Shuttle Revolutionizes Mobile Platforms @ techwarelabs.com [Jan-10-10] (0 Comments) Shuttle is introducing a standard that will allow laptops, netbooks, and notebooks to be modular. . . down to the very last component. A simple swap of the motherboard now becomes possible and will completely upgrade your laptop extending its life indefinitely. [Affiliates News] VidaBox Premium Wireless HTPC Media Center Keyboard @ aphnetworks.com [Nov-16-08] (0 Comments) It has been over half a year since we last reviewed akeyboard, the last time being the APH Recommended Logitech MX5500 Revolutionby Jonathan. During the past six months, things in the technology world havechanged quite a bit -- for example, the introduction of the dual core IntelAtom 330, increasingly common usage of Mini ITX boards, and in general, low(er) cost computing products. Such products have lead to the creation ofNettop computers; a range of computers that are not only value oriented, butalso features a low running cost. Products built around Atom processors arealso propagating the market quickly -- from the Asus Eee Box to the ShuttleX27. Such computers are great for home theater PC setups if you're not aftersomething like 1080p Blu-ray decoding. Speaking of HTPCs, it's interestinghow computers are becoming more and more popular in the living room. Combinedwith such features built right into various editions of common operatingsystems, affordable computing hardware (Even if it's not a Nettop unit, excellent performing parts are readily available at very reasonable prices),and a large collection of peripherals to go with it in the market today, making it your weekend DIY project shouldn't be much of a luxury or challengeanymore. Okay, let's get to the point. Today, we'll be reviewing the VidaBoxPremium Wireless HTPC Media Center Keyboard. To be honest, I have never heardof VidaBox prior to this review. A quick visit to their website indicatesthat they have a ton of interesting home theater product, this keyboard isonly one of many. Let's see how this keyboard that's made primarily for hometheater computers works out. And not to mention that it has the uber hardcoregood ol' trackball. Shuttle KPC K45 Barebones System ed @ thetechlounge.com [Jun-26-08] (0 Comments) I've had this KPC for a month now. Maybe longer, actually. This review has seen setback after setback:I've had entirely too grand a time playing with this little Linux wonder to really bother with writing. Sure, it's got drawbacks--big ones, to be honest--but it also has this charm not readily engendered by other boxes, no matter how small, elegant, or polished they may be. And, pretty soon, I'm going to have to take it apart and stick its silicon organs into another machine so I can report on my KPC's performance. I want to delay that. I want to keep playing. Zotac GeForce 8800 GT 512MB AMP! Edition @ bit-tech.net [Feb-12-08] (0 Comments) There is a lot to like about Zotac's GeForce 8800 GT AMP!Edition – theheatsink has some subtle improvements that help to keep the temperaturecomparable with a standard-clocked GeForce 8800 GT at noise levels thatare going to be inaudible in a chassis. It's also the fastest GeForce8800 GT we have tested to date and, from looking around, there doesn'tseem to be any 8800 GTs clocked faster than this – at best, there areequals out on the market. That maybe explains the overclocking problemswe encountered. At these elevated clock speeds, the Zotac GeForce 8800 GT AMP! Editionoften rivals the more fully featured GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB in theperformance stakes—something it manages to do with just a single slotcooling solution. That's an impressive feat in and of itself.CCL Online appears to be the only place selling this card at £182.64(inc. VAT)– a price point that makes it a worthwhile purchase. Other places havebeen asking for between £195 and £200 – at this price, the card is tooexpensive. The problem is that now you can pick up BFGTech's GeForce8800 GTS 512MB OC for under £200 (inc. VAT), it's hard to recommendZotac's GeForce 8800 GT 512MB AMP! Edition if the two are comparablypriced. The reason for this is that the 8800 GTS's superior shader horsepoweris likely to outlast the Zotac 8800 GT AMP! Edition's higher fillratesand slightly higher memory bandwidth. That said, the fact that oneUK-based retailer is selling this card at a competitive price is a goodenough reason to recommend it but on the provision that you don’t paymuch more than CCL's £182.64 asking price for it.Of course, the GeForce 8800 GTS's dual slot cooling solution is no goodif you've got a case—like a Shuttle XPC—that demands a single slotcard. In that scenario, Zotac's GeForce 8800 GT AMP! Edition is a goodchoice at a higher price, but you'll need to make sure your chassis hasenough airflow to keep this card's temperature under control overextended gaming sessions. Shuttle SG33G5 Pro SFF XPC - Intel G33 @ tweaktown.com [Sep-06-07] (0 Comments) It's been a while since we have heard from Shuttle, and for pre tty good reason. Many years ago if you wanted a small form factor PC that could pack a punch your only real option was Shuttle. It came to the poi nt where some of the biggest manufacturers in the world decided to enter the game, Gigabyte had a crack at it along with Epox and ASUS but no one was ever able to stand out like Shuttle. The particular model we are looking at today is the Shuttle SG33G5 Pro us ing the latest onboard graphics chipset from Intel, the G33. Where does S huttle best fit in the market these days? We'll have a look at the SG33 G5 Pro and see where in our house its best suited for. Shuttle SS21T ed @ bit-tech.net [May-21-07] (0 Comments) Unfortunately Shuttle is stuck between a rock and a hard place:its XPCrange is too expensive but fantastically built and the cheaperT-chassis range is larger and falls into a more saturated marketplaceof equally cheap barebones. In all, it may not be the cheapest outthere, but it still makes for a very capable budget system that works. Swedish Performance Championship 2006 @ nordichardware.com [Dec-06-06] (0 Comments) NordicHardware is proud to present the fifth annual Swedish Performance Championship. Working together with Intel, XFX, ASUS, Corsair, AMD, Shuttle, SilverStone and Antec we now open up the doors for the championship that will make it possible for us to crown Sweden's fastest PC at the beginning of next year. [News] Koolance EHX-1050SK External Water Cooling Kit @ virtual-hideout.net [Oct-02-06] (0 Comments) Before we could revel in the opportunity to review a brand newproduct that extreme users will appreciate, Koolance was in the midst ofreleasing yet another water cooling system, the ERM-3K4U5, which breaks into a whole world of possibilities. Today, we will be installing and gettinga closer look at their infamous 1000kw cooling system mounted externally asthe EHX 1050SK with the very much improved RP-1000SL Reservoir and Pump thathas so many features, it almost belongs some place other than a computer, such as the space shuttle. Thermaltake @ techpowerup.com [Jun-08-06] (0 Comments) Thermaltake has released more products than any other manufacturer at Computex. Among the highlights are a huge home theater case which looks like a big audio rack and has space for two systems. For visitors of lan parties a Shuttle-like case is offered which takes all standard size components and supports SLI. Several new watercooling products have been announced, including a watercooled passive PSU. A whole load of air and watercooled GPU coolers are new too. Silverstone @ techpowerup.com [Jun-06-06] (0 Comments) At the small form factor specialists Silverstone we saw a case the size of a Shuttle which uses only standard components and has suport for SLI. Another novelty were cases which are made from only one piece of aluminum. Last but not least there was a new 850W PSU on display. =?us-ascii?Q?Vizo_Shuttle_2.5=22_HDD_Enclosure_ @ thinkcomputers.org [Apr-10-06] (0 Comments) There are lots and lots of companies popping up everyday that are trying to get in on the computer accessory business, mostcome out with products that are just plain vanilla. Every so often though a company pops up that truly impresses with their qualityproducts, it's those companies that are truly a pleasure to work with. Today for review I have a product from one of thesecompanies. The company is called Vizo, they make quite a few different products, and I will be reviewing their portable driveenclosures. For this review I have the Shuttle, it is an enclosure for 2.5 Shuttle SD11G5 @ bit-tech.net [Nov-04-05] (0 Comments) The system is exceptionally quiet. Companies will often market silent this and ultra quiet that, but this thing is leaps and bounds ahead of every other powerful system I've ever used. The problem you will encounter with this rig is that it is so quiet, other noise pollution coming from the system (eg video card, hard drive) is easily noticeable. :Shuttle XPC SD11G5 Celeron/Pentium-M SFF @ hexus.net [Oct-28-05] (0 Comments) One stumbling block Shuttle faces in marketing the SD11G5 isprice. A search of online retailers shows it to retail at around the=A3340 mark. That's a lot of wedge to pay for a motherboard, case(albeit a stylish one), and cooler. There's also the lack of relativegaming performance from the onboard graphics. Playing any modern gameis an absolute no-no, as far as we're concerned. Shuttle, though, isaiming the SD11G5 at style gurus and those interested in anultra-quiet, powerful machine. In that respect and if you can put upwith the price, it succeeds well. :Shuttle XPC SD31P @ hexus.net [Oct-18-05] (0 Comments) The one word that describes Shuttle's SD31P XPC is competent.Just add a hard drive, preferably SATA, optical drive, RAM, and anLGA775 CPU and away you go. Everything works just as it should, andinstallation is a real cinch for even novice XPC builders.Performance is also good when judged in comparison to ATX-sized i945Gand i955X motherboards, and the ability to specify a Pentium 4 ExtremeEdition or dual-core CPU, GeForce 7800 GT, 2GB RAM, and 1TByte ofstorage, should your pocket be deep enough, is eminently possible inthis larger-than-normal XPC. SLI Shuttle @ bit-tech.net [Aug-17-05] (0 Comments) Shuttle's solution to this predicament is to implement an ingenious heatpipe system to allow for cooling on the two GeForce 6800 GT cards that come bundled with the system. At the top of the case is a fan shroud with two small fans that blow onto the heatsinks below. The heatsinks are connected via a heatpipe to the core on each GeForce 6800 GT. AMD socket 754 Athlon 64, Sempron motherboards list, guide, @ a1-electronics.net [Aug-15-05] (0 Comments) In our following review pages handy to use lists we hope you find as useful as we do the range of AMD Athlon 64, Sempron socket 754 motherboards from Abit, ASRock, Asus, Biostar, Chaintech, DFI, ECS, Epox, Foxconn, Gigabyte, MSI, Shuttle, Soltek & Soyo which we hope will give enough details to help you choose which motherboard you want. Dual-core Shuttle (Intel) @ bit-tech.net [Jul-17-05] (0 Comments) We've mentioned it before, but we'll mention it again - the design of the chassis is genius. It is clear that the chassis was designed to be easy to install components in to from the ground up. I've got rather large hands, and I had no problems with installing components in to the chassis. There are many little things included that just make installation a breeze. Shuttle SN25P @ bit-tech.net [Jun-20-05] (0 Comments) Regardless of the fact that the Shuttle SN25P does not use the Ultra variant of the NForce 4 MCP, we see it can perform as well or better than any full ATX board out on the market at the moment. With the extra accessibility of being able to use graphics cards with dual slot cooling solutions and up to three hard disks there's never been a better time to throw away your huge ATX rig and opt for a small form factor PC. Although Shuttle is releasing a Media Center Version of its XPC, we had other plans on the implementation. In our opinion, the white chassis on Shuttle’s SB86i is the best looking one by Shuttle and using that particular model with an LCD display instead of a VFD would make a better MCE XPC. Two thin gauge (1mm thick) black aluminum plates form the top and bottom plates with the sides being silver. Almost like an Oreo cookie for a robot. The thin gauge pays off in the form of weight. Coming in at an observed 309 gms, the Mini Shuttle weights less than most aftermarket heatsinks. Shuttle XPC SN25P Review @ Club Overclocker [Mar-22-05] (0 Comments) It has been several years since we reviewed Shuttle's very first small form factor PC and much has changed since those days. For example, small form factor PCs are no longer JUST for office use. Today's SFF PCs like the XPC SN25P is an incredibly strong system that delivers everything your big tower does, even high end gaming. Yes, I said high end gaming! Taking advantage of the fast AMD Athlon 64 Socket-939 CPU and PCI-E graphics, this baby is every bit as fast as it's full tower brother. The performance relative to DFI's excellent 875P-T shows they've succeeded in the performance endeavour, using that processor. But if you're a gamer, with the money to spend on SB77G5, why are you using Pentium 4? Shuttle's alternate SN95G5 is more suited to you. These are all qualities that make for a great SFF processor. With this in mind, we decided to take a look at the SN85G4 barebones unit from Shuttle. Shuttle AN51R Mainboard Review @ Overclocker Cafe [Aug-04-04] (0 Comments) The CMOS clear button on the rear I/O panel was a pleasant find as were the on/off and reset buttons beside the panel connectors. Its layout was exceptional. Connector and cable plugs are grouped so as to avoid unnecessary clutter. This is especially demonstrated by the 3-pin Molex connector fan header placements. Shuttle AN51R nForce3 250 @ PimpRig [Aug-03-04] (0 Comments) There isn't anything too exceptional about the layout of the AN51R. Even though there are plenty of capacitors near the CPU socket, they are low enough where almost all heatsinks would clear it. The ATX connector, IDE1 and 2, and floppy connector are all conveniently bundled near the top back of the board which makes wire management easier, but once again, the 4 pin 12V connector is located clear across the board right below the CPU socket. ST61G4B Special Edition @ PC Unleash [Jul-19-04] (0 Comments) Many companies are currently seeking a new gold mine that can facilitate the market. The most successful field for attracting an audience nowadays is with the barebone system. Although barebone systems were not initially given a warm reception by extreme enthusiasts, Shuttle’s small form factors are in fact gaining their reputation mainly among this type of people. So we would like to introduce a very relevant product today for any extreme enthusiast, or casual user. It is the ST61G4 from Shuttle. Shuttle XPC SB81P SFF Review @ OCC [Jul-11-04] (0 Comments) The ICE cooling system takes up quite a bit of space by itself. This is mostly due to the fact that Shuttle has designed it for maximum airflow. On one side is the intake fan which pulls air in from the outside and via a shroud on the opposite side, funnels it right back outside the case after it moves across the radiator fins of the heatpipe. The cooling system consists of three components, the intake fan, the heatpipe itself and the shroud which directs the airflow. On the heatpipe is another fan, just smaller. Shuttle takes their cooling seriously as this brings the fan count up to a total of five. For such a small unit, this is quite a lot. Shuttle AN51R nForce3-250 Motherboard Review @ t-break [Jun-28-04] (0 Comments) The tiny button that you see on the back panel is for clearing the CMOS which can come in handy if your overclocked system fails to boot up after you’ve fitted all your components and have the casing closed.
